Make a Splash with These Top Pool Trends

July 26, 2022

After multiple years of staying at home through the pandemic and now the never-ending heat wave that seems to be Summer, 2022, residential pools are the new “must-have” backyard staple. With more attention being given to your outdoor living space, Draper DNA has some tried-and-true suggestions to refresh your backyard oasis.

Beat the heat at home with these five stylish additions to your outdoor pool space.

Keep Your Green Thumb Warm

A simple and often therapeutic way to invigorate the area around the pool is to add fresh and flourishing greenery. This is an easy “solve” for hiding unwanted elements like chain linked fences, pool filters, nosey neighbors or unwanted creatures. Potted greens, blooming flowers, even vegetable gardens add a “secret garden” touch to enjoy while you cool down this summer.

Outdoor Furniture (Affordable) Upgrade

A quick and easy upgrade to spruce up your outdoor oasis is to switch out furniture covers. You can simply pick out new outdoor fabric to replace the existing and recover the inserts. If you prefer to keep the covers the way they are, adding splashes of color and personality with outdoor decorative pillows is another option. Not interested in brand new pillows, outdoor fabric spray is a final simple solution.

Dry Off Next to A Hot New Flame

Your outdoor space is an extension of your home that can serve as a living room, dining room – even a dance floor. If your space is feeling a little cold, bring some warmth (literally) by extending your outdoor living space to include a fire pit or a stylish patio heater. This not only creates ambience but also allows for a nice retreat even in the colder months.

It’s 5:00 Somewhere

Whether it’s a swim-up bar, an oversized floatie with a “cup” holder, or a cooler filled and chilled in the screen-in porch, your outdoor living space is the perfect place to cool down with a nice cold beverage. Make it even more enjoyable by bringing speakers outside and turn up the tunes!

Chill and Grill Out

One of the best parts of summer time is celebrating holidays, warmer weather, family and friends over a veggie shish kabob, the perfect steak or grilled corn on the cob on the back deck. Accompany this with PVC placemats, and shatterproof melamine dinnerware that’s all style and no stress. Perfect for outdoor dining and entertaining. Some of our favorite grilling recipes can be found in HGTV Magazine – we recommend the grilled Caesar Salad.
